A cycle of songs inspired by the ideals of the leaders of the Easter Rising, written and performed by Lorcán Mac Mathúna. Drawing from the writings of Pearse, Connolly, Plunkett and others, Lorcán Mac Mathúna explores the vision of the revolutionaries and its contemporary resonance. Featuring new music, as well as traditional songs, 1916 – Visionaries and their Words is an audiovisual experience of music, song and archive imagery.
