The week spent in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre was one of the fullest, practice-centered periods, I've been allowed, since finishing my Masters in Fine Arts in 2013. The centre is designed to accommodate artists and allow them the time to make and create without question or interruption. The seven days and six nights spent in Annaghmakerrig, helped me cement ideas, approach new ones, try out different ways of working and also different media. Between the friends I have made, and the exposure to such talented people from different areas of the arts, I cannot praise those involved, highly enough. I found this interdisciplinary residency and the invited speakers to be the perfect ingredients for an inventive and nurturing space. Thank you to the Arts Council, to the creatives I shared my week with and to those working in and around the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, in their ability to make a home, for artists.
