The climate crisis is unfolding rapidly and action at scale and speed is required from all of us. The arts are being increasingly recognised as a resource for transformative change, at an international, national and local level.
In 2022 the Arts Council embarked on an in-depth 6 month consultation process to understand what we can do to support
the arts community to take action and get to grips with climate action ourselves. This consultation process included an industry wide survey, internal and external interviews and a roundtable event.
In 2024, we plan to publish our Climate Action and Environmental policy later which will demonstrate our commitment to helping deliver our national climate objectives and positioning the arts at the forefront of climate and environmental action.
We are also committed to taking corporate action in line with national climate objectives, targets and plans.
We will also be making specific climate and environmental training and resources available to the sector this year. Whilst we arrange these supports we have compiled several useful climate action resources currently available to help those looking to begin
or advance their climate and environmental journey. These resources can be found below and range from general climate and environmental information to governmental grants/funding to support your journey.
