Festival Makers Forum 2021
Festivals are central to the country’s arts infrastructure providing opportunities for artists to develop and present work, but also provide the public with opportunities to participate in and experience in the arts. During the Covid-19 pandemic, professional and voluntary festival makers have worked to sustain their organisations, maintain creative engagement with artists and devise ways to engage with the public.
In order to better understand the challenges currently facing festivals, the Arts Council hosted a number of focussed group sessions; a forum for festival makers to share their learning in 2021 and to examine how best the viability and sustainability of festival organisations could be supported.
Discussions took place on 30th November, 2nd,7th and 9th December 2021.
A report with findings from these discussions can be found here, co-written by Danielle Lynch and David Teevan.
