Safeguarding means putting
measures in place to promote and protect people’s human rights and their health
and wellbeing, and empowering people to protect themselves.
We are committed to creating a
culture of safety that promotes engagement in the arts by all children and
adults.
We believe effective safeguarding
is about:
- Promoting the welfare of children
and adults;
- Preventing harm from occurring
through early identification of risk and appropriate, timely interventions; and
- Protecting children and adults
from the harm caused by abuse and neglect.
We seek to ensure that no child
or adult is disadvantaged in accessing and engaging in the arts and we respect
the rights of all those who engage with the Arts Council to be protected,
treated with respect, and have their views listened to.
