A round of Theatre Project Award funding will open for applications on Tuesday 27 June, with a closing date of Thursday 27 July at 5.30pm.
An information clinic will be run around this time (details to follow).
This award will be for activities taking place in the 12-month period on or after 1 January 2024, and will cover four strands of the Theatre Project Award. Applicants can apply for one strand per round.
- Strand 1: Play Development to support the writing of new plays by playwrights, either on their own,
or working in collaboration with a director, and/or dramaturg, and/or other
collaborators to develop a text for performance
- Strand 2: Theatre Creation to support the collaborative development of new theatre work in a
post-dramatic context
- Strand 3: New Work* to support the presentation of new work to audiences, either written by
a single playwright, and/or made collaboratively in a post-dramatic context
- Strand 4: Production to present mid to large-scale productions of plays to audiences in
partnership with funded arts organisation with a strong track record for for
the delivery of theatre to audiences.
*In a key
change from previous rounds, new plays written for the stage will be considered
as part of Strand 3. Please read the guidelines carefully for information on
this once they are published.
Please note, applicants to Arts Grant Funding (AGF) 2024 will not be permitted to apply to this round of Theatre Projects. As previously advertised, there will be another round of Projects with a closing date of 16 November (window opening around 10 October). Unsuccessful AGF 2024 applicants will be eligible to apply at this time.
